Disney fans are being presented with a unique opportunity during this Holiday season. Flooded with themes of love, home and family, Disneyland’s new Festival of Holidays will end each night with the beautiful ‘World of Color – Season of Light’ show. This light, water, and fire spectacular is combined with classic holiday songs and memorable moments from animated Disney films. The ‘World of Color – Season of Light’ will be presented nightly now through January 8th, 2017.
FUN FACTS – The show uses lasers and high-definition projections, in addition to surrounding lighting that creates an amphitheatre effect. There are more than 120 characters from over 30 Disney animated films included in the performance. More than 800 individual light fixtures are used to illuminate the show. The lagoon used for the show covers 3.5 acres with nearly 15 million gallons of water. The projection screen is a wall of water that is 380 feet wide and 50 feet high.
CHARACTERS – With over 120 Disney characters represented in the show, every fan is bound to come across a recognizable figure. Mickey Mouse, Andy’s family from Toy Story, Goofy, and the Three Caballeros are among the more noteworthy characters within many different themes projected during the evenings. MUSIC – The music for this incredible production was recorded in several different sessions throughout London, Nashville, and Chicago. The soundtrack is a staple of the nightly performance, and includes very well-known musical artists like Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Amy Grant, Bing Crosby, and Elvis Presley. With such great voices singing classic holiday tunes, this show is a must-see!
