The holiday season is a wonderful time to book a family vacation to the Disneyland® Resort in Southern California. Many extra special events take place at their California Adventure Park®, the Downtown Disney® District, and of course, at the main Disneyland® Park itself. Here are some of the best ones to look forward to when staying with us at the Tropicana Inn & Suites.

Disney® Festival of Holidays 2022: Inside California Adventure Park

The Festival of Holidays takes place from November 11th, 2022 through January 8, 2023 at Disney’s California Adventure Park®. There is a gorgeous 50-foot tall Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street greeting visitors when they come into the park.

Each night, there is a nighttime spectacular called the “World of Color – Season of Light.” It’s a musical and fun-filled light show that is set against the backdrop of famous animated Disney® movies. There is also a nightly holiday concert of festive toons at the Palisades Stage in Paradise Gardens Park.

Don’t miss the Festival Marketplace with food and drink that honors each diverse holiday, like Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Christmas Day, and ends with Three Kings’ Day, which has a special visit from the Three Wise Men around a gorgeous nativity scene.

Dance the night away with Mickey’s Happy Holiday party each night. It features Mickey and all his best buddies with live music from the Holiday Toy Drummers.

Another party to look forward to is the Disney® “¡Viva Navidad!” Street Party with live music, Navidad decor, authentic dancers, and all your decked-out Disney® friends. It’s an unforgettable good time! Buen momento inolvidable!

If your family is a fan of the Cars movies, inside Cars Land there are two fun seasonal attractions to look forward to: Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.

Theme Park Holiday Events: Inside the Main Disneyland® Resort

When you walk into Disneyland® Park, you’re about to experience the “Merriest Place on Earth.” You’ll bask in the glow of a 60-foot tall Christmas tree right on Main Street, USA. The decorations and lights are everywhere, and you’ll be enchanted from day to night by the shimmering icicles and twinkling lights all over Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. The Haunted Mansion Holiday in New Orleans Square is also decorated in spooky but festive decor featuring Jack Skellington and his friends. You won’t want to miss it!

All around the Town Square, you’ll encounter Disney® characters dressed up in their very finest holiday attire in bright reds and greens.

The Christmas Fantasy Parade takes place each day, featuring the characters from Frozen, including Olaf, Anna, and Elsa marching alongside Mickey, Minnie, and of course the big guy himself, Santa Claus. You’ll enjoy musical floats, marching toy soldiers, and dancing gingerbread cookies.

At night, the holiday festivities continue with the “Believe…in Holiday Magic” Fireworks show. It displays more than 80,000 twinkling lights against the backdrop of the castle and booming colors overhead. Plus, experience a magical snowfall at “it’s a Small World Holiday” with more holiday lights shimmering in the night.

This Holiday Season: In the Downtown Disney® District

Downtown Disney® is going to be alive with holiday splendor just like each park. There are going to be holiday decorations all around the shops and restaurants that line Downtown Disney®, with photo opportunities with dressed-up characters and Santa Claus.

There will be live festive musical entertainment in different parts of the District. Plus, many of the shops and restaurants will have special offerings this time of the year. It’s truly a fun place to shop for holiday gifts and see everything themed that Disney® has to offer.
