The Halloween season returns to both Disneyland® & California Adventure Park from September 3rd – October 31st with frightfully fun family experiences.

Both parks are bringing back some of their guests’ favorite yearly events. To attend these events in style and comfort, consider booking your stay in Anaheim at the Tropicana Inn & Suites.

Main Street Pumpkin Festival

One must-see event is Disneyland’s Main Street Pumpkin Festival, which features jack-o-lanterns with the face of Mickey Mouse. Many of your favorite Disney®  characters will be decked out in various Halloween costumes and mingling with guests. Be sure to head to New Orleans Square for a glimpse of the Haunted Mansion Holiday display, which was inspired by Nightmare Before Christmas.

Halloween Screams

Also held at Disneyland®, Halloween Screams is a nightly special effects show with ghosts and other supernatural creatures projected into the sky. Be sure to check out Disney’s® entertainment schedule to catch Halloween Screams and the accompanying fireworks display.

Plaza de la Familia

The Halloween-themed events taking place at Disney’s® California Adventure Park are just as popular. One of the top attended events is the yearly Plaza de la Familia.

Held in Paradise Gardens from September 3rd to November 2nd, Plaza de la Familia is a celebration of Dia de los Muertos. The event features food, entertainment, and crafts.

Part of the daily celebration is “A Musical Celebration of Coco.” This street show honors Coco and the everlasting bonds of family with Mariachi music and more!

Oogie-Boogie Bash

California Adventure Park’s official Halloween party is the Oogie-Boogie Bash. No matter how old you are, the Oogie-Boogie Bash is the place to go trick-or-treating in the park’s immersive treat trails.

Shows and attractions worth checking out include Mickey’s Trick and Treat, as well as the Frightfully Fun Parade. For an interactive experience, try the Villain’s Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Head to Cars® Land to see Radiator Springs temporarily repurposed as Radiator Screamers. Other Halloween-themed transformations include making over Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree. In addition, Luigi’s Rolickin Roadsters become Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-o-Ween. Not to be outdone, even Guardians of the Galaxy’s Mission: Breakout is transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark.

Buena Vista Street is another great place to spot your favorite Disney® characters dressed in their Halloween costumes. It’s also where you can see the Headless Horseman Statue, which stands 10 feet high and features the horseman’s jack-o-lantern head.
