Our Spooky-Good Guide to Disneyland Halloween Time 2022
Are you wondering what Disneyland® is like during Halloween? This spooky-good time at the Disneyland® Resort is going to be an epic event. This includes special attractions and parties at the main Disneyland® Park, California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney®. Here are some of the best Halloween Screams Disneyland® has to offer this season, starting September 2nd through October 31, 2022.
What You Can Expect When Visiting Disneyland® During Halloween
When you enter the main Disneyland® Park, you’ll be greeted by a huge Mickey Mouse-themed pumpkin right on Main Street. All kinds of characters will be dressed up in Halloween costumes roaming the plaza for holiday photo opportunities. Plus, there is lots of silly, scary decor around the park, including Ray Bradbury’s Halloween Tree, and throughout Frontierland, you’ll see festive decorations celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. Pumpkins and frightful delights are around every corner!
Rides at the California Adventure Park will also be decorated in a Halloween theme, including “Haul-O-Ween” decor at Cars Land where Radiator Springs will become Radiator Screams. Everything is designed to surprise and spook guests of all ages, but don’t worry, it’s more fun than scary.
After the sun goes down, the Guardians of the Galaxy thrill tower ride becomes “Monsters After Dark” with a different storyline and plot from the daytime version. The best part is that you can see both stories if you visit the attraction during the day and at night.
All over each park, there are festive food offerings featuring Halloween-themed candies, snacks, meals, and drinks. Don’t miss the special Mexican-themed food at the Paradise Garden Grill and other Halloween treats at the Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta.
Halloween Screams Disneyland® Fireworks Show
The nightly fireworks and projection show at Disneyland® Park is going to feature all kinds of nods to Halloween. It is hosted by Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog, Zero, and features many famous Disney® villains, like Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Oogie Boogie Bash At California Adventure Park®
One of the most popular parts of the Halloween season is the Oogie Boogie Bash in California Adventure Park®. This is an after-hours event that takes place on 23 different dates throughout the Halloween season. The total party time lasts around five hours starting at 6:00 p.m., and you need separate tickets to get into the bash. It’s a very popular event and sells out each year, so if you want to buy tickets, get them early. As family friendly fun, it includes Mickey’s Trick or Treat Show, the Frightfully Fun Parade, and so much more. All of the separate lands remain open during this event, including the Avengers Campus.
