Every season at Disneyland® is magical, but the holidays are truly special. From November 15, 2024, through the first week of January 2025, the park transforms into the happiest and most festive place on Earth. Here’s a look at some of this year’s top Disneyland® Christmas attractions and experiences.

It’s a Small World Holiday

The classic It’s a Small World attraction gets a cheerful, immersive holiday makeover, with dazzling light displays, Christmas music, festive decorations, and holiday-themed props. One of the most unique details is intangible: “scents around the world.” As you sail through Europe, you’ll catch whiffs of peppermint and pine. New for 2024, a few other regions have their own scents. Asia features cherry blossoms, South America is filled with cinnamon, and the South Seas are bathed in fresh, tropical coconut.

Haunted Mansion Holiday

Another can’t-miss attraction, “two holidays collide” at the Haunted Mansion Holiday. The spooky, iconic Haunted Mansion is reimagined with a Tim Burton twist, inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington becomes “Sandy Claws” and just about every inch of the attraction transforms into a creepy but festive wonderland.

Disneyland®’s Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional has been a cherished event since 1958. Many people consider the performance a highlight of Christmas at Disneyland®, featuring a full choir singing beloved holiday songs while a celebrity narrates the Christmas story. The processional takes place at the Main Street Train Station only on the first weekend of December, with two performances each night.

Where the Holidays Don’t Reach

While the majority of the park is decked out for the holidays at Disneyland® 2024 California, there are a couple of notable exceptions. Both Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Tomorrowland remain the same as any other time of year. The reason? It’s simple—there’s no Christmas in a galaxy far, far away or in the future. Christmas is actually an excellent time to visit these attractions, as they’re significantly less busy than other parts of the park.

Vintage Holiday Magic at Disney California Adventure®

Over at Disney California Adventure® Park (DCA), the holiday spirit takes on a nostalgic twist. This year’s theme pays homage to 1920s Los Angeles, when Disneyland was brand new. Visitors will find cohesive vintage decor across the park, from bears donning ugly Christmas sweaters near Grizzly Peak to the retro vibes of Cars Land. Hollywood Land, in particular, perfectly captures the essence of the Roaring ’20s, with a period-accurate Hollywood Boulevard.

Festival of Holidays Entertainment

One of the major highlights of DCA’s Christmas celebration is the Festival of Holidays. This multi-cultural celebration features a variety of live entertainment, interactive craft stations, and a large food marketplace with seasonal treats, making it ideal for the entire family. With music and dance performances inspired by various cultures, you can experience holiday traditions from different parts of the world—without leaving the park!
