If you’ve ever wanted to explore Disneyland® Park after hours—specifically with lightsabers glowing and galactic music in the air—Disneyland® After Dark Star Wars Nite is for you.

The separately ticketed event takes place April 28 and 30, plus May 4 (of course!) and 6, 2026. Each party runs from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am, with early access beginning at 6:00 pm, giving guests extra time to enjoy the park before the exclusive festivities begin. For fans planning their Disney Star Wars 2026 adventures, this event is the crown jewel.

What is Disneyland® After Dark Star Wars Nite?

Star Wars Nite Disneyland® transforms the park into a galaxy-spanning celebration. A galaxy far, far away, one might say. Guests of all ages will enjoy special character sightings, themed menu items, and entertainment unique to the evening.

Expect a lightsaber how-to and the Fleet of Fandom costume cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. Guests are invited to don their best Star Wars cosplay to join in. Add themed photo backdrops, limited merchandise and rare character appearances, and you have an immersive event from start to finish.

Attraction Overlays and 2026 Updates

The timing of the 2026 Disneyland® Star Wars Nites also aligns with exciting in-park updates. Hyperspace Mountain returns April 28, 2026, overlaying the classic Space Mountain with Star Wars music, projections and epic encounters with an X-wing and looming Star Destroyer.

Over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run launches a new storyline beginning May 22, 2026, featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu. For the first time, riders can choose their destination and even communicate with Grogu during the mission. The storyline, timed with the theatrical debut of “The Mandalorian and Grogu” movie, involves pirates and ex-Imperials.

Fireworks and Galactic Atmosphere

Watching fireworks in Batuu has become one of the most sought-after experiences in the park. During scheduled shows, Star Wars music fills Galaxy’s Edge as fireworks burst overhead. On select nights, the “Fire of the Rising Moons” spectacular brings villagers and visitors together in a surprisingly moving celebration of freedom.

The projections for “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” transform the spires near the Millennium Falcon, following the story of the Skywalker legacy. Insider tip: The fireworks are the same park-wide, but the soundtrack and lighting differ depending on whether you’re in Batuu, on Main Street, near “it’s a small world,” or by Rivers of America. Sort of a choose-your-own-adventure.

Characters and Specialty Bites

During Disneyland® Star Wars Nite (and really, throughout May), keep an eye out for Rey, Kylo Ren, Stormtroopers, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano and even the rare Luke Skywalker sighting. At Star Tours — The Adventure Continues, characters like Cassian Andor, Din Djarin and Grogu may appear.

Event-exclusive snacks vary each year but typically include playful creations like lightsaber pretzels and lollipops, spaceship cookies, and colorful “galactic” drinks such as the Toydaria Swirl or The Grinning Loth-cat. For a next-level experience any time of year, reserve a build-your-own lightsaber session at Savi’s Workshop (advanced reservations strongly encouraged).

Plan Your After-Hours Adventure

The most important strategy for Star Wars Nite Disneyland® is to book early. Event tickets are limited, and nearby hotels book quickly. Tropicana Inn & Suites is directly across from the park entrance, so when that clock strikes 1:00 am, your room is steps away. Book your stay online or call (714) 635-4082. After all, the Force favors the prepared.
